REMINDER OF BYLAWS AND REGULATIONS

A) Circuit containing refrigerant

Under bylaw 98-560 du 07/12/1992 amended on 30/06/1998 and European regulation 2037/2000 dated 29/06/2000, ozone layer and greenhouse gas emission regulations require operators of refrigerating facilities to ensure their plant is properly serviced and have authorized firms conduct regular inspections to check for leaks. Firms authorized to inspect facilities must be registered at the prefecture of the department in which their company is registered as having the necessary human and material resources to work on refrigerating plant. We are registered under number .93.0022.

After the inspection, a certificate of watertightness is issued and must be available for control by the competent authorities for the duration of the plant's lifetime (minimum 3 years).

All leaks of refrigerant must be quantified, repaired and declared to the authorities . This service is also subject to a certificate of watertightness, which must be kept as stated earlier.

B) Cooling through water dispersion
Open and closed cooling towers come under section 2921 of classified facilities under bylaw 2004-1331 dated 1 December 2004, which among other things imposes a risk assessment, training personnel in such hazards, complete cleaning at least once a year and periodic controls for Legionnella with the appropriate treatment if necessary.
Since 1 January 2006, such towers must also be audited by a certified body.

By extension, all airflow water dispersion cooling systems must be closely monitored for Legionnella.
